Musclescapes
features the following new & repertory works by Wicked Sister Dance
Theatre:
Stalls, the all new 40 minute ensemble version of this
highly kinetic work on an original set piece inspired by public restrooms.
Six of WSDT's most acrobatic and theatrical men peer into the humanity
of this public/private place, climbing and slithering through the emotional
landscape of isolation and exposure, shame and desire, intimacy and competition.
Choregraphy by David DeBlieck with Direction from Noah Bremer and Performances
by Jerome Bowden, David Harris, Cade Holmseth, Roman Lilligren, Mark
Ruark and Galen Treuer.
In Electrization: The Peculiar Findings
of Dr. Duchenne,
Jeffrey Bleam creates a surreal collage of aerial silks, Shakespearean
verse, pornography soundtracks and projected photography to examine a
nineteenth century doctor's experiments with muscles, emotions and facial
electro-stimulation. Electrization features choreographic collaboration
with aerialist Amy Nystrom and performances by Melanie Jarnac and Angela
Hasnedl.
Caroline
Sutton Clark returns to the Red Eye stage to wrap around a 30 foot rope
swing with David DeBlieck in hazmat suits and goggles in "A Lesson in
Aviation". She will also be setting "The Thunder and the Freshness" on
WSDT dancers, an explosive romp to the percussive music of Kodo. We are
thrilled to be hosting Caroline again after first introducing her to
MN audiences atop 8 1/2 dozen raw eggs in Summer Splash.
